1- There is always a kids table that you will have to sit at... until you're married. Kids are defined as the single members of the family.
2- There is always someone who is late and ends up being stormed with criticism.
3- People actually spend time inviting other people to sit at the table instead of just sitting themselves.
4- There is always at least seven conversations that are carried on… everyone is shouting… and no one is actually listening.
5- All women are in the kitchen (mostly doing nothing but blocking the way), while men are outside… drinking.
6- There is always that person who's at the barbecue… the same person every time, who ends up eating cold food and leftovers.
7- The dessert table can feed 80% of Somalia's population.
8- After lunch, people slowly disappear… they’d probably found a good spot for a two-hour nap… usually a confortable sofa but often beds that are not theirs. 
9- Cross-cultural exchange usually happens in the kitchen… where Filipinas, Ghanaians, Ethiopians, Sri Lankans communicate... in Arabic.
